My Girl Plays Hockey #WeAllPlay
3 years ago my daughter, Stella, joined me at an event where she had her very first ever moment in hockey skates. She got to meet a gold medal, Team Canada, Olympic hockey player and share the same sheet of ice with her for a pick up game of hockey. All it took was 30 minutes on the ice, a brand new stick and helmet and a few pointers from a world class female athlete and Stella was hooked. She barely made it off the ice without falling but walked grinning ear to ear to the dressing room. As I was taking off her skates, fully expecting her to say she never wanted to see ice again, she looked at me thru her caged helmet and said, “Mom, I want to play hockey!” At the age of 10, she’s in her second season with her house league team and has never looked back. Early morning games, late evening practices, she loves it all and I credit the positive inspiration she got from that one time meeting on the ice 3 years ago. If all it took was 30 minutes to inspire my daughter to pick up hockey, imagine how many more can be inspired the same way. I’m forever grateful and proud that my girl plays hockey.

I just love this. Sport is so important.
Sport is so important for my girls. We’ve made it a rule in our house that they all have to play some sport!
Great! Oh my goodness – how fantastic is that. She is looking pretty.
