Christmas Eve is a KD night
I really should learn by now that I still NEED to feed my 4 kids on Christmas Eve. I have been planning and shopping and prepping and cutting and mixing and chilling and baking. I can’t be expected to also have to remember to make dinner on Christmas Eve, am I? So in my flurry of flour and icing sugar this afternoon we collectively decided that KD was surely what Mary and Joseph must have eaten on the night before baby Jesus was born. Well it was probably spicy mexican enchiladas but now we’re just splitting hairs.
Tonight is also the night that we say good-bye to our scout elf, Stanley. He’s been a wonderful guest in our home since December 1st when he arrived with brand new Christmas pj’s for the kids. And tonight when he departs for the north pole he will leave brand new robes for the girls to wear on Christmas morning. We are sad that he has to go, taking with him our parental threat of, “Stanley’s watching you and is going to tell Santa that you’ve been a little biatch all day!”
I hope that you are all safe, warm, full and loved.
Merry Christmas.
