Cutting The Cord
I think we’re ready. I think it’s time. It’s been years in the making. I’ve been weaning off little by little and I find that I don’t miss it when I don’t use it. I don’t crave it. I don’t desire it. I don’t need it.
I’m cutting the cord…to my cable.
Now is the perfect time to do it since we’re moving in a month so maybe we can slip out the back door and the cable company won’t even notice we’re gone. Besides that, my kids spend all day long on Netflix watching the Adventures of Puss in Boots and I’m totally into Mr. Selfridge back to back on the treadmill. Who needs cable these days? I have all the shows and movies I need online, I can get my breaking news stories faster on Twitter than on TV and everything else I want to watch I can stream somewhere on the internet. Yup, I’m done.
I feel a total sense of relief, in fact, to not be dependant on my cable cord, well, for cable anyway. I’ll still have internet and a phone, lets be real here. As much as I use my cell phone for everything, I couldn’t cancel my home phone when my kids are this young still.
Hmmm, I wonder who the hubby is going to manage hockey games and football season without cable. I guess I should’ve asked him first huh? Oh, well, I’m sure he won’t mind 🙂
So have you or could you cut the cord? How would you get your content if you did?
