New York Fashion Week

Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming. I’ve had THE most amazing week and to be honest, I keep thinking it was a dream because it came and went in such a flurry of excitement that I’m still spinning from it. To sum it all up, I went to New York Fashion Week!

Me.

Yes, the gal who loves fashion and well, who doesn’t love New York.

So remember when I entered to win the #ThisIsBliss contest thru Blissdom? Last week I got the most amazing phone call from the 2 owners of Blissdom Canada. First of all, I wasn’t expecting a call from Ontario but I decided to answer it anyway. So not like me because if I don’t know the name or number on my phone I usually let it go to voice mail. As she put me on hold to conference the 3 of us together all I kept thinking was that I was in trouble. My mind was in replay mode thinking back, trying to figure out if I had offended someone or violated some sort of blogging law that would make them want to revoke my ticket to Blissdom.

My heart was beating and I was holding my breath.

“How would you like to go to New York City next week?”

“OMG, DID I WIN? DID I WIN THE CONTEST?”

mute for high pitched screaming and possible peeing of pants while sitting in my car in the driveway with a full load of melting food from Costco but who cares, I’m going to NYC, baby!

In the next 4 days I packed my bags, filled the fridge with food for my husband and kids and spent no less that 4 hours carefully crafting which outfit I should wear to attend the Badgley Mischka Spring Summer 2015 fashion show! Oh that’s right. I got to attend a real live fashion show during fashion week in New York courtesy  of the wonderful folks at Rent Frock Repeat where you can actually rent Badgley Mischka dresses for a fraction of the price of owning one.

Talk about bucket list item!

I know you’re dying to see what New York Fashion Week is all about so I made a little video to show you all the glitz and glamour of the event. My beautiful travel companion Shannon, from Blissdom, joined me on this amazing adventure and we undoubtedly had a blast.

 

We walked in stiletto heels, we hailed a yellow cab, we saw amazing fashions, we were photographed by paparazzi and we looked fabulous while doing it.

My heart felt and eternal Thanks to Blissdom Canada and Rent Frock Repeat and Badgley Mischka for granting me this amazing experience and prize package. It was all so amazing that I couldn’t fit it into 1 post so stay tuned for part 2 of my New York adventures and our epic day in the city.
