Roasting Marshmallows
Some of my best memories are sitting around a fire pit or camp fire talking with my friends. We would share tales of the tall and personal variety and of course the ever popular ghost stories. There’s something about being outdoors with nothing but your camping chair and your marshmallow skewer to protect you, listening to scary stories that make you snuggle deep down in your sleeping bag at bedtime.
The older 2 of my girls have discovered the great Canadian shows on Netflix, Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? and armed with spooky material, they told their own stories around the fire during our last camping trip. Nothing more Canadian than that, eh? 😉
These are the moments that make the memories that make the nightmares that wake me up in the middle of the night that make me lose sleep that make me grumpy the next day. Oh summer, I do love you so.
Hi Tiffany,
I’m a first timer here.
Your post brought back fond memories of marshmallows, camping and ghost stories!
I’m the eldest of all my siblings and cousins so I was always the ‘story teller’. One of my favorite authors was and still is Roald Dahl.
Even now at almost 40 I still enjoy his books! Now I just need to find those marshmallows!
Thanks for the blast from the past!
Astrid
