Who Did This?
It just doesn’t matter how many kids you have, you’ll always have that one who will deny it all. Who made this mess? Not me. Who broke this dish? Not me. Who ripped this book? Not me. Where is your sisters favourite toy? I don’t know. Really? I start to find it hard to keep a straight face when I’m asking her about it because she’s so obvious.
Hey Abby? Can you come here for a minute please?
Yes mama? What?
I want you to look at this chair?
(5 year old looking down at the cream coloured leather dining chair)
What about it?
Do you know who wrote on mommy’s chair? Who did this?
(loooooooooooooong pause)
(scrunched up nose)
(head tilt)
(looks up at me with the innocence of an angel)
I don’t know mommy, it wasn’t me.
Oh really, Abby?
Yeah, maybe it was Stella.
End Scene.

My brother once carved my sister’s name in my father’s brand new car and tried to blame her (didn’t work). Just sayin’!

So like one time when my brother and I were pillow fighting, mine caught the ceiling light and it came crashing down. I wouldn’t admit to it. He was always blaming me for stuff anyway. After he was grounded for like a week, I felt so guilty (took me 7 days) that I admitted it was me. Like Abby, I was cute, so no punishment ensued. It is really hard to be mad at a cute kid! Love them all!
Haha! Good one. We have the same problem around here. The blame game. Even the three year old now knows to blame his brother for things, even when he is not in the house. Kids are funny.

Wow. Yes, if you’re going to do graffiti, don’t leave your own name. I too learned this the hard way.
